STEAM education
WRO® connects science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through hands-on projects where students learn by doing.
About us
WRO® Iceland is a platform for students, schools, coaches, and communities who want to strengthen technical skills, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving through robotics and STEAM education.
What is WRO® Iceland?
World Robot Olympiad™ Iceland is part of the international WRO community, where students design, build, and program robots to solve creative and technical challenges.
The goal is to create an accessible platform where students can learn by experimenting, working together, making mistakes, improving their solutions, and seeing their ideas become working technology.
WRO® connects science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics through hands-on projects where students learn by doing.
Teams work on real challenges that require idea development, technical implementation, and repeated testing.
The competition brings together students, teachers, parents, schools, universities, and partners around technology, innovation, and education.
Organization
WRO® Iceland is organized in connection with the University of Iceland and NýMennt. The goal is to build on Icelandic schools’ experience with robotics competitions and create a new platform for students at different education levels.
NýMennt works with innovation, educational communities, and STEAM education outreach. WRO® Iceland connects schools, students, teachers, universities, and partners who want to support technology education and creative learning.
